On a traditional swedish keyboard (like the one on the alfaskop 320
text terminal, in swedish iso-8859-1 mode, popular in the 80:s), you
can get also get C-\ by typing C-3 (or perhaps some other digit, I
don't quite remember) or C-ö. My favourite screen control character is
C-], which is then generated by C-ä.

X obviously doesn't work that way, as it has a real independent
control modifier, but it would be nice if at least terminal-like
programs did. I really ought to add that to my *VT100.Translations X
property. Using Control + AltGr is quite awkward.
