FYI, I test glibc in a chroot jail and it ran bash, ls, ps, and w. I
noticed with ls that user and group ids were showing up numerically.
So like:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 60188 Apr 16 22:49 apt-cache
-rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 126756 Apr 16 22:49 apt-cdrom
-rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 20380 Apr 16 22:49 apt-config
-rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 33548 Apr 16 22:50 apt-extracttemplates
-rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 186180 Apr 16 22:50 apt-ftparchive
-rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 129860 Apr 16 22:49 apt-get
-rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 35356 Apr 16 22:50 apt-sortpkgs

I also did boot test which didn't completely succeed. Here's what I
got:

Cleaningup left over files...chgrp: invalid group name `utmp'
done
Starting system log daemon: syslogd
Starting base networking daemons: inetd hurd syslogd: network logging disabled
(syslog/udp service unknown)
hurd syslogd: See syslogd(8) for details of whether and how to enable it.

I'm going out soon, but I'll take a look later to see if I can figure
out why it's not resolving the name to number mappings right. I don't
have this problem on i686-pc-linux-gnu with the 2.2.92 snapshot (plus
Debian patches).

Tks,
Jeff Bailey
