  (Note: this message is not posted to the FHS discuss list.)

  A couple things I ought to mention: (1), the FHS already makes
/usr/share/info optional, and it was said at one point that the GNU
Coding Standards would be amended to have info files there (at the
moment it's still $(prefix)/info).  I've commented out the entry for
that directory, but it should be dropped.  (2) There are some
typographical errors in the text I sent; sorry about that.
