Yeah... :).
Here is another attempt (a better one I assume ;)).

* console.c (audible_bell): New variable.
(visual_bell): Likewise.
(console_exit): Add visual bell support and make the audible bell
and visual bell optional.
(cons_vcons_beep): Likewise.
(options): Add options to enable/disable the visual and audible
bell.
(parse_opt): Add support for the bell related options.
