Thanks for the clarification.  At first glance, it seemed to me that 
"fixed" means: fix is applied, but there is more work to be done, which 
is our case.  But you've revealed that this is not the exact semantics 
of "fixed".

This bug shouldn't be closed with new upload, or if it is, then the 
patch with many small fixes should be moved to Savannah.  Should I do 
this move now?
