Sure, if you start with the idea that guile should be at the core
of the console, then this would be how to do it. But it isn't, and
   probably never will be.

And you have not provided any reasons why it shouldn't. Guile should
be at the core of the GNU system (and the console is a important part
of the GNU system), and you are flat out rejecting this idea without
providing any reasons what so ever as to why.

It is indeed quite clear that the Hurd console should use guile so
that it can be modifed by the user without having to recompile it,
that you are unwilling to even bother to see or even comment on why it
shouldn't is just a sad.

So, if you disagree at that fundamental level, then I am afraid you
have to start from scratch. In this case, please refrain from
making attacks on the current code base, or on the suggestions on
how to improve it along the way it was designed.

Why don't you stop making baseless accusations? Nobody was making any
attacks at the current code base. There is no reason to start from
scratch, even if you insist on some kind of disagreement that doesn't
exist. If your only complaint is "that isn't how it is designed",
then one can't ever improve the design, and not using guile from the
start was a huge mistake. Thankfully, it doesn't require extensive
rewrites of the code.
