Hello all,

Well, we can forget about b. Alfred yells at people every now and then,
blaming them for everything he doesn't like. I don't think I've ever seen him
apologize, and I don't expect to ever see it. When I first saw the Hurd
community, I didn't know what to think of him. Now I know he is mostly being
ignored by everyone. However, I could have stopped looking before I found
that out. I'm sure some people do.

Thomas now says that instead of using a workaround (ignoring him), we should
actually fix the problem. What I like in the Hurd is that workarounds are
usually considered bad, and real solutions are implemented instead. I hope
that will happen in this case as well.

The choice is simple, I suppose: we lose Alfred, or we lose Thomas. Since
(AFAIK) most of us are annoyed with Alfred from time to time, while at least I
am extremely happy that the Hurd on Mach has received a new boost because of
Thomas, as far as I'm concerned the choice is easy.

Sending Alfred away is of course not "nice" of us, but I think it will overall
be a good thing. And I'm sure everyone agrees that keeping Thomas happy so he
will continue to work on the Hurd is a very good thing as well.

Thanks,
Bas
