I think it is clear that writing glue code is the way to go with
the current gnumach driver framework.
Personally, i am not biased towards porting freebsd or linux drivers.
Using one or the other has its pros and cons. However, linux
device drivers are better documented than than of freebsd's. I
don't think that the freebsd architecture handbook
(http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/arch-handbook/)
describes how things work at a satisfactory low level. This might
mean IMHO that porting freebsd drivers will need more time than
porting linux drivers.
