Ashish,

Are you sure you are pulling the gnumach-1-branch?  You have to do 
something like the following:

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sv.gnu.org:/cvsroot/hurd co -r 
gnumach-1-branch gnumach
