I can't think of any problems that could arise from doing so. One thing
that might happen, if you don't use a IPv6-enabled pfinet, is that your
Mach kernel receives such a packet and the pfinet would have to discard
it.
Since in a IPv4-only network multicast packets aren't common, it
shouldn't be problematic there.
Furthermore mind, that GNU/Linux systems nowadays default to enable
multicast reception even also.
