Virtualization and HURD, another GSoC idea

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry not to mention this in my first mail, I just forgot it, so I
apologize.

Back to the point, perhaps you know that new CPUs from Intel and AMD
add support to virtualization in hardware, and work has been done to
incorporate this support in the Linux kernel through the KVM project.
My questions is, how feasible would be the idea to create something
like that for the GNU/Hurd, should this support be added to the core
kernel, or should it be supported by userspace applications (e.g
through an emulator like QEMU).

In addition to that, would it be better to port KVM to the Hurd (I
don't know how much Linux-dependent it is as I haven't looked at much
of the code yet), or should that virtualization be written from
scratch?

Best Regards,
Mohammed
