Maybe you're doing something wrong then, because GNU Emacs has been
running on GNU Hurd ever since I can remember.

Of course, oweing to the nature of Debian unstable, the emacs22 Debian
package might be uninstallable at times due to missing or outdated
dependencies.  Right now, it seems to be installable without problems,
though.

Unfourtunately, I still have the same ``Broken packages'' error... But
indeed, this might be because I broke my local apt database some
time. However, do you mean that I can download the sources of emacs22
and they will build successfully on Hurd?
