I've seen such problems too, but could always terminate apt-get with C-c
and restart it, without havin the machine crash.

Anyway, speaking about it, foobar just crashed again... But this time
into the kernel debugger -- won't be of much help nevertheless, as far as
I can tell:

Kernel General protection trap, eip 0x11cc008
    kernel: General protection (13), code=0
    Stopped at 0x11cc008: addb %ah,0x486c4946(%esi)
    db> trace
    0x11cc008(0,0,0,0,0)

Seems like total junk to me. Anything more I shall do before rebooting?

Regards,
 Thomas
