I think that too. But then again, maybe it's there so one can save the
text non-complete and then when one is ready make it available.

It is Debian GNU/Hurd I'm trying to install. :-)

Not for me though. It does not seem to install GRUB so I cannot boot the
system. I downloaded a GRUB image (0.97), and boot with "-boot a -fda
grub.img". I execute the following commands on the GRUB prompt:

root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/gnumach.gz root=hd0s1
module /boot/servers.boot

And after some boot messages I get:

Loading single multiboot module in compat mode: /boot/servers.boot
panic: Cannot load user-bootstrap image: error code 6000

Yep, that's the guide I've been following. Although it's a bit outdated
since I use version L1, not K16 (and I use the mini-version). I hoped
they would install pre-configured GRUB by default by now, but no. The
guide does not describe what commands to execute in GRUB though.
