Hi,

Since copyright assignment is a problem to some (i.e. those who can’t
be found anymore), would it be possible to just use submodules for all
translators which don’t have full copyright assignment?

That way there
would be core translators (you need copyright assignment to get your code
merged to mainline) and that hurdextras stuff. Everything which gets
copyright assignment gets merged into mainline.

Maybe there could be a
nongnu.savannah.org project for all these translators; just one big git repo
in which people can start new translators without copyright assignment, but
which gets pulled in by the hurd metarepo.

Best wishes,
Arne
