Fotis raised an important point here, that is equally valid for all GSoC
students as well as any other contributors, so that surely warrants a

and generally personal/professional development!

as well recommend a book covering that very topic: »Apprenticeship
Patterns, Guidance for the Aspiring Software Craftsman«, Dave Hoover,
Adewale Oshineye, O'Reilly Media, 2009,

summer (at a beach in Sanya, China, heh), and found it described very
many of the patterns that we're using in our open software development
models. Was a good read, so I'm happy to recommend it. Per
