Details:

When running 'git commit' with environment variable EDITOR set to 'emacs -nw',
emacs works correctly to edit the commit message _unless_ CNTL-Z is used to
suspend the session.  The shell prompt appears correctly, but when 'fg' is
used to resume the git/commit, emacs does not redisplay.  CNTL-Z can be used
again to get back to the shell, but ultimately the 'git commit' has to be
killed (with 'kill').
