I grabbed inetutils-20010404.tgz from... hrm... can't remember where.
Anyhow, I'm assuming that it's a v. recent cvs snapshot (like today's).
When I run
$ ./autogen.sh
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make install
it seems that during the install step, it fails, unable to find
mkinstalldirs where it expects it at
~username/inetutils/../../mkinstalldirs. And indeed, it is not found 2
directories above the top level source dir, but rather directly in the
top level source dir (naturally?).
I corrected this problem by simply sedding out the '../../' from in
front of 'mkinstalldirs' in all of my Makefile.in's before running the
'./configure' command. The 'make install' step works fine now. I think
this is a bug...? Just thought you might like to know about it.
I'm not on the list, so please CC me any replies.
Cheers,
Ben
