Excellent. This fits with my idea of a release for the beginning of
the month.

My initial inclination is to ignore current portability stuff during
any rewrite - aside from special features, etc. I think that GNU
Inetutils is intended to operate 1) on GNU/Hurd systems, 2) on
GNU/Linux systems, 3) on Posix compliant systems and 4) on systems
where someone cares to maintain the portability. [For instance, I will
probably put some effort into keeping Inetutils running on
ix86-pc-cygwin]
