Hi,
Okie, I am doing the final private rewrite of configure.ac right now,
and I hope that I will be able to post some code maybe tomorrow or early next
week. So if Jeff accepts the rewrite, then be prepared for some breakage. =)
This will only touch the HEAD branch, the 1.4 branch will be untouched. Unless
of course the rewrite is good enough to be moved there.
