Cool.  Thanks.  I reformatted your changes to take advantage of some of the 
new features added to libltdl since 1.4b, and to better fit into our coding 
standards.

Since this is a substantial change, I can't commit to the repository without 
the necessary legal paperwork from the authors (and possibly their employers).
Are you willing to assign the copyright for the patch to the FSF?  And if so, 
are you aware of the new process for assignment?

My new patch causes no regressions on my machine (i.e. all tests still pass), 
does it still work for you?
