CVS libtool, all tests fail

Subject: CVS libtool, all tests fail

While things were working a couple of days ago, today CVS libtool
seems totally broken under Solaris. After doing a CVS update, a
bootstrap, configure, & make, doing a 'make check' results in every
single test failing:

% gmake DEBUG=true check
