Re: ranlib concatenation

HI Ralf,

Forgive my ignorance but can I fix this by replacing the aclocal.m4 file and then rerunning the configure script? Do I have to change particular macros within it? There is an m4 directory too... is there a place to find new versions of the macros?

Please forgive my ignorance and thanks much for your help.

I will forward it to him. So can I re-libtoolize the directory i have
and hope that that will fix it?

This problem has been fixed in 1.5.2.
Tell him to update. He should probably wait till after this weekend
where we will most probably release 1.5.18 which fixes a libltdl-related
regression introduced in 1.5.16.

As I already said, only rerunning libtoolize will not help unless the
macros are updated as well. Either aclocal does the job, or you need to
copy them into some m4/ subdirectory, or replace the respective macros
in acinclude.m4 or such. I don't know the package in question.

here is the output....
$ ./libtool --version
ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.5 (1.1220 2003/04/05 19:32:58)

Regards,
Ralf
