Weird, last time I checked Solaris 2.6, there were no such failures
(a couple of other tests failed though, for independent reasons).
Could you rerun the testsuite verbosely (see README for how) and
post the output (packed with gzip or bzip2)?

The Solaris 2.6 make has rather limited VPATH support, needed for
separating source and build tree (but so far I thought it was enough
for Libtool-1.5.22).  Are you using GNU make or Solaris make?
