This is with libtool tagged as release-2-2, GCC 4.2.4 20080217, binutils
2.18.20070911. (I normally have quite an elaborate config.site, a
modified compiler specs file, and an earlier-installed copy of libtool
1.5.26, but I've removed or deactivated all of these for this test ---
or I tried to, but libtool wouldn't entirely let me. See below.)

/bin/sh is bash 3.2.9(1)-release; the shell in use in this environment
normally is zsh 4.3.5.

(The builddir is on NFS, but it fails just the same if I try it on a
non-NFS-mounted filesystem.)

The underlying cause of test 24's failure appears to be that LDFLAGS is
not consistently propagated down: note that a lot of the link steps do
not pass in my LDFLAGS of -specs=specs.no-as-needed, so get linked with
--as-needed (which is the default on my system) and subsequently
fail. (FWIW the only things I've ever seen fail with --as-needed are
linker-semantics testsuites like this one. :)

Test 25's failure is weirder and I don't know what its cause might be yet.

Test 64 doesn't seem to have any failure details in the log at all.
