OK, you bring an argument of the sort "this can also be done in a
different way".

But that's not a conclusive argument against the patch.  The patch
(once it's forward-ported) allows Behdad to achieve what he wants
- very elegantly
- with little work
- and with relatively minor overhead in libtool.

In what way do you think we are making Libtool worse with the patch?
