Could you check into some of Ralf's other questions:

Use this tarball -- it uses the older Libtool:

    http://www.open-mpi.org/~jsquyres/unofficial/openmpi-1.3a1r18428.tar.gz

Use the build from the above tarball for the old output, and use a  
build from last night for the new output.
