Ralf,
Thanks for taking a look.  I posted your comments on our bug tracker
to let everyone know and perhaps get some more eyes on the problem.
It's over my head, but hopefully one of the core Haiku devs will take
notice.  I'll probably try out 2.2.10 tonight or tomorrow and see how
it goes.
If you have a spare partition on an x86 PC, we now how CD ISO images,
or if you use vmware ( might work with virtual box and others) we have
those as well: http://www.haiku-os.org/get-haiku, Haiku R1A2 was just
released on May 14th, I believe it's got libtool-2.2.6b.
