I just tried to process an old scores, originally
written for Lilypond 1.3.117 and was surprised to
notice that the following syntax isn't supported
anymore:
\midi{
\tempo 4. = 50
}
(which is a highly relevant specification for a
piece in 9/8). I tried to include it in a \notes
section to get the correct syntactic mode but it
didn't help.
