Libgr-progs is a relic of the past- see changelog for libgr:
  Wed Oct 15 1997 Donnie Barnes <address@hidden>
- obsoletes netpbm now

RH decided to return to the mainstream and use (and help develop) netpbm
and netpbm-progs for the 7.x series and plans to continue using them. RH
versions which use libgr-progs don't have an acceptable guile version,
tetex package, or texinfo (unless the enduser rolled their own). However, the new website docs show no dependency here at all; netpbm and netpbm-progs are needed for RH7 to compile lilypond. (Not to mention the fact that pktrace and its dependencies are now required, not "[OPTIONAL]".)

RH still has two- guile and guile-devel- which cover the same range as
Mandrake's libguile, guile, and libguile-devel. They appear to be
compatible (libguile+guile on Mandrake roughly the same as guile on RH, libguile-devel roughly the same as guile-devel), although Mandrake's three packages are roughly a half-megabyte larger than RH's two.

One other thing- I tried removing MAKE_PFA_FILES=1, got this error, decided it must be something I needed to upgrade Python for (so I now have both 1.5.2-35 and 2.2-2), and got it again:

However, the parmesan files seem to not be a problem in 1.5.36.
