Jan,

I am using guile-1.4 from the FreeBSD ports/packages collection:

% pkg_info | grep guile
guile-1.4 GNU's Ubiquitous Intelligent Language for Extension
% guile -v
Guile 1.4
Copyright (c) 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000 Free Software Foundation
Guile may be distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public Licence;
certain other uses are permitted as well. For details, see the file
`COPYING', which is included in the Guile distribution.
There is no warranty, to the extent permitted by law.
%

Something wrong with this version? Should I try compiling guile on my own?
Anything I can test to see if some functionality is broken? I am not very
familiar with guile; lilypond is the only thing I use it for.

Thanks,
Geoffrey
