When Everyone Zigs, There's Big Money To Be Made in Zagging!

Have you ever gone 2 or 3 days without checking your emails? I rarely do. This weekend was a rare one when I never turned on the computer. Monday morning was an email nightmare!

I get a LOT of email. I'm sure you do. Even with all the email filters and spam guards on my Eudora, I still had over 700 junk emails to sort through. What a waste of time!

I love email marketing. Making money on the Internet is a lot of fun. But unfortunately, it's also gotten much harder than 5 years ago. I remember days of typing up a short email in the morning, sending it to a small list of 6 or 7 thousand subscribers, and having $10,000 in sales by lunch. People would read every single email in those days!

Today I have subscriber lists in the hundreds of thousands. They have ALL asked for the information. But I track how many people open the emails. Its a constant battle against big ISP's like AOL, MSN and Earthlink. They delete tons of my marketing materials without my subscribers ever seeing it. And yet the junk emails that promise to make certain body parts grow always seem to get through....

Because of the junk email problem, ISP filter problem, and people's time starved world we are seeing a new shift in online marketing. Everyone is zigging. My advice is if you are sending a lot of email, learn how to target better and be a better "zigger". BUT you should also ZAG.

How can you zag? I watch my snail mail post office box like a hawk. I used to get an entire shoe box full of mail every 2 days. The post office guys would always laugh at how much mail I would get. But over the last year, my mail flow has dropped off the chart. No one is sending me postcards, multiple offer envelopes, or free cassettes any more. Why would they? It's a lot cheaper to blast out a million emails and hope.

But zagging is strategic. How can you get into the mind of a key prospect? How can you get noticed?

Last year I paid $7000 to be a in a very exclusive Mastermind Alliance with some of the top marketers in the world. Believe me, you'd recognize their names if I was allowed to tell you. One of these guys grosses over $50 million a year! No, I'm not joking. I love being the poorest guy in a room! I always learn so much from hanging out with Big Dogs....

These guys talk a lot about being noticed. One of them swears by postcards. He is one of the most brilliant marketers I know. He thinks of marketing as combat. If you are one of his hot prospects, he considers it a personal challenge to get inside your head. He turned me onto a resource called Amazing Mail. (http://www.amazingmail.com/)

This little company allows you to create online databases and service them with gorgeous full color high-quality postcards. The applications in your business are limitless. If you travel a lot like I do, you can take your digital camera to London, take a nice shot of Big Ben, upload it and send out 1 or 1000 color postcards in about 5 minutes.

I use it to welcome all my new personally-sponsored partners to my team. They get a postcard from me about 10 days after joining. I find it reduces the drop out rate, raises the WOW! factor, and points them at all the training and support in my system.

For you big thinkers, let me leave you with this. What would happen if you kept a file of the Top 100 biggest prospects in your industry? These are the Big Dogs that if they joined you, would make a six-figure impact on your paycheck. What if you sent each of them a gorgeous postcard every single month? Check in with them on holidays, travel, special notices, good news etc. You might spend $1000 for the whole year. But what if 1 or 2 of the Big Dogs joined your business?

This is the question of the week. How can you get noticed?

I am very very satisfied with the Ultimate Blueprint. I had been looking for a definitive 'answers' book to MLM and this provided the overview I had been searching for. I had purchased a number of other MLM books but these don't compare.
