I agree that it would be a neat feature, but it's not that simple to
do it right. For example, it's common in orchestral scores to join
the string parts together with a bracket but this bracket will only
collide with the bar numbers if it appears at the top of the score
(i.e. you don't have any wind parts). Also, from a technical point,
it's not as easy as just adding a property setting in the definition
of the ChoirStaff since the setting has to be done on the score level.
I leave it to Jan and Han-Wen to ponder about a good implementation
of the feature. In the mean time, I hope you have found out from the
mailing list archives how to move the bar numbers by setting the
padding property.

Hi you LilyPond freaks :)
I don't know if it's a bug.. but I'm posting because it's quite annoying, and
I think it should be some automatic adjustments.
In ChoirStaff context (with the brackets on the left).., the measure numbers
overlap the top of the bracket, and makes them nearly unreadable. Would it be
possible that when we're in a ChoirStaff context.. the measure numbers be
just a little higher or more on left ?
thanks in advance
