Dear esteemed Lilypond hackers,
I'm having significant trouble attempting to use midi2ly on MIDI files
containing lyrics. Depending on the options, it produces either output
with note names and lyrics mixed, or invalid Lilypond input. However, I
noticed that the Lyrics construction, which midi2ly is generating, has
been removed in the latest development version, in favor of LyricsVoice.
The cvs version of midi2ly still uses Lyrics. So it would not be much
use to fix midi2ly's Lyrics output?
How much effort would be required to fix midi2ly to use LyricsVoice? I'm
not familiar with the LyricsVoice construction or midi2ly's internal
workings, but if it's not too hard, I can make an attempt at fixing it.
Probably someone with more experience could have it fixed before I could
even change a line of code.
I can provide a testcase if needed.
Thanks,
Ken
PS - I'm not on the list.
