configure not picking up autoconf version correctly

configure not picking up autoconf version correctly |

configure gives a WARNING about autoconf/g++ combination. I've upgraded my
environment (SuSE 8.2) to autoconf 2.59 and still get the warning, as shown
below. (g++ and autoconf versions also shown).
Either the message or the test should be corrected.
