Hi,
Do you know if Lilypond is able to generate tablature music for stringed
instruments like the hawaiian ukulele, the andian charango or the
canarian timple ?
I have tried with the example given in the online documentation for the
mandoline/violin and it worked fine but whenever I tried the timple
tuning, it breaks.
The timple like the two other instruments has a uncommon tuning. On
these instruments, strings are not sorted from high pitch to low pitch.
The lowest pitch string is in the middle of the other strings.
The tuning for the mandoline/violin in lilypond is /\set
TabStaff.stringTunings = #'(-5 -10 -15 -20)
/For the timple, I guess that it would be /\set TabStaff.stringTunings =
#'(+2 -3 -8 0 -5) %%% d, a, e, c, g
/For the charango, /\set TabStaff.stringTunings = #'(+4 -3 -8 0 -5) %%%
e, a, e, c, g
/For the ukulele, /\set TabStaff.stringTunings = #'(-3 -8 0 -5) %%% a,
e, c, g
/With the timple and charango tunings, lilypond outputs this message:
/ERROR: In procedure list-ref:
ERROR: Argument 2 out of range: 5
/Thanks you for your answer,
François.
