Hello:
Success. This has been my experience so far. I hope that this email is not
redundant.

The chordNameExceptions route is a good place to start chord substitutions. It
can be tedious and awkward, however, unless only one chord substitution is
being done and that substitution is valid for all subsequent chord types. The
reason for this is that when the chord name change is made in /chordmode, it is
difficult to change back to the original or something else. The software must
exit from /chordmode and then the change can be made and then the software can
go back into /chordmode. This can cause other problems on the final score
output but I think these are solvable at the user end. For example,
substituting a 7#9 chord for a 7 chord also means that all subsequent 7 chords
are going to be 7#9 chords. There is probably a way around this but I have not
found it yet. I tried many things, many combinations and permutations on this
matter and so far all my tests corrected the intended problem but caused
others. Some of the problems are bugs and some are not. Some of the problems
occur because there is something that I am not aware of. This will take some
time for me.

The chord-names-jazz.ly is very well done. Nice work. So far it has performed
very well. An immediate reaction is that chord-names-jazz.ly might make
chordNameExceptions redundant but that may not always be the case.

So far, very positive experiences. The pdf outputs are very well done and
consume normal amounts of disk space and memory as any other pdf.

Regards,
Lawrence Whitby
