I don't really have the competence to answer your question, butmy guess is that it may depend on the specific font you have chosen, what platform you use and what fonts you have installed. I recommend you to complement your bug report with all the relevant

I've entered a song title as "Pro Petra I" where "Pro Petra" is in cyrillic andI is the latin digit "one". After lilypond is done with it, the space that separated the I from the preceding word has disappeared.Workaround: since the latin a is (oh happy phishers!) indistinguishable from thecyrillic one, I used that one as the last character of Petra. That makes the "space eating" disappear.
