Great! Using that and a minor fix of you ossystem_system that I just submitted, lilypond-book --pdf seems to work out of the box on Windows, for the first time
since we left Cygwin.
The plain LaTeX mode still has some problems, but as you have said earlier it's
better to push the pdflatex mode.
