I agree that the tie should start -- and end -- below the tied
syllables, but there should be a visible space. Strangely, there is
visible space in the online examples (e.g. regression test), but I
don't get any space in actual scores (or in the example I sent). It
seems I get too much negative space.
(In one example, "ve -- sti~e~i giar -- din", the two lyric ties
actually overlap.)
I can't find Nancho's scans, but I think the scores I've seen with a
lyric tie have a small, but visible space between the words.
I'll see if I can find some relevant scores to scan. (Lyric ties
aren't used much in most of the languages we sing; I think I've only
ever seen them in italian lyrics.)
