I keep things pretty up-to-date with respect to what Ubuntu provides.
And at the moment, that's:
ii gs-afpl 8.14-3.1 The AFPL Ghostscript PostScript interpreter
ii gs-esp 8.15.2.dfsg.0u The Ghostscript PostScript interpreter - ESP
ii gs-gpl 8.50-1.1ubuntu The GPL Ghostscript PostScript interpreter
I believe I had gs-esp set as the alternative. Since getting your
mail, I updated all of these, and now I'm no longer getting the error
(with any of them), but I'm also not seeing the elision character.
