In general, programs shouldn't quit with that kind message, so in that regards it's a bug. :)

Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to maintain midi2ly any more, so we can't help.

Do I need to specify more parameters? or is there actually a bug?  I can get you
the midi file(s) in question if need be.
