Hi Bernie,

This is not a bug. You are aware that the guitar is a transposing  
instrument and that it sounds an octave lower than how it's notated?  
It is absolutely correct that the middle C (C4 or c') lies on the  
first fret on the b-string. If you are writing music for guitar, you  
have to use \clef "G_8". If you are writing for bass guitar, you have  
to use \clef "F_8".
