Strangely, I couldn't find any newer resource :(

I know multi-letters argument are usually introduced with a double
dash, so I guess this provides better compatibility. Besiodes, in a
package I tried to check ( a Mandriva 2008 rpm), the man-page mentions
[-]-watch
...which hardly makes sense :)
