As far as I can tell, there is currently no way to automatically have tuplet numbers avoid staff lines. I'm willing to put a bounty of €50 (or equivalent in another currency; USD preferred) on it. Otherwise, I'm going to have to do a lot of work to place these manually. Thanks!
