I don't know how it works on windows with a properly configured
system, but the first command is fine as written on Linux and OSX.

Well, convert-ly works on my system as is, but I can't
remember if I fiddled with the paths to python or not.
I use python for other things, so I had it installed
independently of LilyPond.  You do have to execute it
in the directory containing the Lily file, or give it
a fully qualified name, of course.
