Please go to the lilypond website www.lilypond.org and click on the Help
link.  It will take you to the Getting Help page.  You can then try out the
crash course, followed by reading the LilyPond Learning Manual.

That should get you started.

P.P.S.  How did you get to the bug-lilypond list?  What page on the website
got you here?  We want to fix the website so this question *never* gets
