Comment #1 on issue 871 by marnenlk: support for MacOS X 10.6 snow leopard
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=871

Whether the main developers have Snow Leopard or not, this is a high-priority issue, since it effectively renders the program nearly unusable on Mac OS X. It does not seem sensible to artificially lower the priority of -- let's face it -- a deal-breaking bug, when that lowering is solely based on the dev team's limitations.

I'll be happy to help with Snow Leopard testing, but something has got to be done about this. Lilypond hasn't really worked right on Mac OS since Tiger (the last time both the GUI and the compiler worked decently), and that's not acceptable for a piece of software aimed at a non-technical audience.

I've seen some reports that the LastResort.ttf font is making things slower, though I haven't been able to
confirm that myself.

Anyway...how can I help? I'd like to get Lilypond usable on Mac OS again.
