Have you considered previous discussion like the subthread starting at

before adding this issue?
If I was knowledgeable about LilyPond parser, I'd say "If you want to
define a
function with optional arguments, then define it in Scheme, which unlike
music
functions offers a function call syntax which allows optional arguments
without
ambiguity." and mark this issue as invalid.
Maybe supporting keyword arguments in music functions could be acceptable,
but that's
probably much work.
