Excellent!  I tweaked the Abort colors (they work on linux) and robustified  
the abort
and make_patch.  (it warns you if you try to make a patch without doing a  
local
commit first).

I can't think of any other items, although I'll test it again in a week or  
so (to
give my mind time to forget about the current behaviour).  It would be  
great if we
could get some more people testing it.
